From Perspective to Financing: City - Based Climate - Health Surveillance

12 February 2026 | Bali

Organized in Bali, from 12-13th February, Swasti The Health Catalyst, in collaboration with United In Diversity Indonesia and Health Innovation Exchange HIEx, completed its first workshop cohort with 6 cities/states, with average populations ranging from 700,000 to over 80 million. Participants from Buleleng, Sumedang, Denpasar, Tingloy, Cainta, and Tamil Nadu worked together to address priority climate-health challenges, including extreme heat, water-borne diseases, and vector-borne diseases.

Through this workshop, participating cities prioritised climate-health surveillance to develop strong, investable and bankable projects, while committing to domestic financing for regular operations and long-term sustainability. This milestone marks an important step in moving from perspective to financing, translating climate-health risks into actionable, funded solutions for urban resilience. The workshop was supported by knowledge and technical partners, including the William J. Clinton Foundation (WJCF), Vital Strategies, and the Global Heat Health Information Network, National University of Singapore.
